Job Purpose:

  • We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and datascientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate willbe excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives
Big Data Engineer
  • Must Have: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, SQL, Python, Data Modelling, ETL
  • Good to Have: Data Warehousing, Cloud Platforms, Big Data Frameworks, Data Lake, Stream Processing, Knowledge on Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in crafting and optimizing complex SQL queries for data transformation, aggregation, and analysis.
  • Good programming skills in Python for data processing and manipulation, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies, including Hadoop ecosystem tools such as Hive, Sqoop, and Spark.
  • Ability to process, transform, and analyze large-scale datasets efficiently using SQL and big data tool.
  • In-depth understanding of ETL processes and methodologies, ensuring seamless data movement and transformation.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and architectures, optimizing data storage and retrieval.
  • Adeptness in troubleshooting data-related issues, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Skill in creating clear and concise technical documentation, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Designing efficient and well-structured data schemas, optimizing data storage in data warehouses.
  • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data engineering services (a plus).
  • Writing and maintaining shell scripts or other automation scripts for data processing.
  • Collaborating effectively in a cross-functional team environment, translating technical concepts for nontechnical stakeholders.
